ASSOCIATED PRESS SUMMER 2010 BROADCAST NEWS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM ( WASHINGTON , D.C. ) - The Associated Press Broadcast News Center (BNC) in Washington , D.C. is offering a video internship during the summer of 2010. The internship is open to full-time juniors, seniors (including fall 2009 graduates) and graduate students at American colleges and universities. The broadcast intern will work with a team that is producing content for our Online Video Network and AP Television News. It includes field work, editing and producing video packages that are distributed to broadcast television stations and Web sites in the United States and abroad. Interns will work with non-linear editing gear and learn broadcast writing and storytelling techniques. And you get paid. Start dates may be anytime between mid-May and mid-June, depending on your schedule. SUBMIT: • A 300-word autobiographical essay on this topic: "The Associated Press seeks to recruit and retain a workforce that embodies a wide range of talents, experiences, achievements and journalistic skills. ASSOCIATED PRESS SUMMER 2010 MULTIMEDIA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - The Multimedia Department of The Associated Press is offering a 12-week internship during summer 2010. The internship is open to full-time juniors, seniors and graduate students at American colleges and universities. In addition, applicants must have HTML and audio editing skills, and must be proficient in Flash and Photoshop.
The multimedia intern will work with a team that is producing multimedia features for hundreds of online customers, including Yahoo, AOL and NYTimes.com. The internship includes production of Flash-based presentations that are distributed to Web sites in the United States . Interns will work with content from several AP formats – text, photos, audio, video and graphics – and learn multimedia storytelling techniques. And you get paid. Start dates may be anytime between mid-May and mid-June, depending on your schedule. The internship is open to full-time juniors, seniors (including fall 2009 graduates) and graduate students at U.S. colleges and universities. As many as 22 interns are selected. You get to work in an AP bureau under the supervision of a designated trainer. You get paid. And you get to cover breaking news that may be featured in many media outlets. Start dates may be anytime between mid-May and mid-June, depending on your schedule. SUBMIT: • A 300-word autobiographical essay on this topic: “The Associated Press seeks to recruit and retain a workforce that embodies a wide range of talents, experiences, achievements and journalistic skills. Interns will work with non-linear video editing gear and learn writing and storytelling techniques to tell stories in video form. And you get paid. Start dates may be anytime between mid-May and mid-June, depending on your schedule. The internship is open to full-time juniors, seniors (including fall 2009 graduates) and graduate students at American colleges and universities. We select a minimum of two students for photo internships. You work with a designated trainer to help you in your development. You get paid. And best of all, you get to cover stories that could be featured in media outlets around the state or around the globe. Start dates may be anytime between mid-May and mid-June, depending on your schedule. SUBMIT: A 300-word autobiographical essay on this topic: “The Associated Press seeks to recruit and retain a workforce that embodies a wide range of talents, experiences, achievements and journalistic skills.
